Want an infrared or visible imager on your cubesat but don't have an optics or thermal specialist on the team? R. Lance Haney, Ph.D. will design the payload with you and deliver it as a full written report. It is not a licensed engineering stamp and not a guarantee.

What's in the package

• Radiometric design: band choice, optics, detector match, and an SNR / NETD budget for your orbit and targets
• Thermal design: how the payload stays in its operating range, and how temperature affects image quality
• Parts list: specific parts with sources. Your team gets its own quotes and buys them.
• Test plan: bench, calibration, and environmental tests your team can run with university facilities

What it is not

No hardware is built or bought by us. It's a design package that your team carries forward.

Paying with grant funds

Teams can write this package into a proposal as a consultant line item, for example in a NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI) mission plan or a Space Grant budget. We can provide a short scope statement for your proposal.
